Sometime in 1970

1970 - 1980

That's my earliest recollection. I remember my elder brother was in Elementary 6 in Ogoloma Town School at the time and he was one of the people that played a masquerade. It must have been part of the end of year activities. Not long after that, he went to Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borikiri as a boarder and I saw very little of him in my childhood as he went on to stay with our aunt, Mrs Ibunge Alamina most holidays and only came home for brief periods.

Oraibi was six years older than I. I have no relocation of him either telling me off or beating me as many older siblings of our era did. He was gentle, soft spoken, polite and nice looking... especially from those childhood photographs from Udi and Enugu before my time. I think my big sister, Ib. used to test his patience. I heard him tell sometimes, "You will cry." Never heard him say, "I will beat you." He had a lovely writing and was artistic, just like his close friend at the time, Late Tex-o (Tekena Jamabo)
